Chase Westfall is an artist, musician, educator and curator. He currently serves as Curator and Head of Gallery at VCUarts Qatar, Doha, Qatar. In 2024 he served as the Interim Executive Director at the Institute for Contemporary Art (ICA) at Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Virginia, USA. Recent curatorial projects include Yee I-Lann: paths of the wind weave shadows bare bones of a mat (2025); Paul Kos: Oracles (2024); Loie Hollowell: Drawing as Urtext (2023); Eugenio Espinoza: Onceptuales (2022); Jess Perlitz: Being Carrier Bag (2021); Great Awakening – Vision and Synthesis in Latter-day Saint Contemporary Art (2021, Center Gallery, Center for Latter-day Saint Arts, NY); Carmen Winant: Fire on World (2019); and Caitlin Cherry: Etherpaint (2018). Recent writing projects include Latter-day Saint Art: A Critical Reader (contributor - Oxford University Press, 2025); Joe Seipel: Yours & Mine (editor, contributor - VCU Press, 2025); Loie Hollowell: Drawing as Urtext (editor, contributor - VCU Press, forthcoming). Westfall received a BFA from the University of Florida and MFA from the University of Georgia, with a concentration in painting.
