Ghada Alkuwari (Gigi)

Ghada AlKuwari (Gigi) is a visual artist with a strong foundation in oil painting. She earned her BFA in Painting & Printmaking, and a minor in Film & Design from VCUarts Qatar in 2025. She completed an international art residency at the Cité des Arts in Paris, and exhibited her work in Doha, including the Fire Station, Katara, and M7. She interned at Mathaf, and served as a teacher’s assistant for the course Moving Pixels over three semesters. Her work is rooted in psychological and surrealist themes, drawing from personal memory, dream logic, and often tackling broader sociopolitical issues. Through absurdist imagery and subtle humor, she constructs visual narratives that reflect lived experience while offering imaginative spaces of escape and reinterpretation. Her current research explores performance and identity.
