Marina Fokidis

Marina Fokidis is a curator, writer, and cultural strategist whose practice explores contemporary art as a space for public dialogue, social imagination, and transnational exchange. Working across exhibitions, publications, and institutions, she is known for developing long-term collaborative platforms that connect artistic practice with questions of democracy, coexistence, geography and the politics of the Global South. She is the founder of the internationally acclaimed journal South as a State of Mind and the founding director of Kunsthalle Athena, and served as Head of the Artistic Office in Athens and curatorial advisor for documenta 14. Her curatorial projects have been presented internationally, including at the Greek Pavilion of the 50th Venice Biennale, ARCOmadrid, SPARK Art Fair Vienna, and numerous museums and biennials across Europe and beyond. Alongside her independent curatorial work, she currently serves as Director of Culture for the Region of Attica, where she is leading the development of new public initiatives that position contemporary culture at the heart of civic life.
